Waterford Staycation Route

As the country reopens, we decided to bring The Range Rover Evoque & Land Rover Defender for a roadtrip around the sunny south east.

We set off from AutoBoland here on the Cork Road in Waterford & headed for Kilmacthomas to see the historic Viaduct bridge that overlooks the town. The bridge was originally part of a railway track but it is now playing its part as a break taking view along the Waterford Greenway. It also posed as a great photo opportunity for the stunning Range Rover Evoque.

We then set off again as we passed the family run Flahavan’s which has been operating in Kilmacthomas since 1785. Next location was Mahon Falls, but first we had to stop for a quick coffee at Crough Coffee in Mahon Falls.

Once we were fueled back up, off we set to Mahon Falls and passed famous locations such as the “Magic Tree” whilst taking in the stunning views of the Comeragh Mountains. It can’t be Denied but the Defender looked very suited to the rugged landscape of the Mahon Falls, making it the perfect jeep for a trip around the Comeraghs.

After taking in the beautiful view of the country from Mahon Falls, we set off towards the Vee. For the months of June, there is stunning rhododendron to be seen all along the route of the Vee. This was the perfect opportunity to take out our drone & to admire the full extent of the beauty in the area.

Then we headed to our final location, Dromana Gate. This gothic bridge is location near Villerstown in West Waterford and is bound to leave you surprised by its appearance in a very rural area. It proved to be a great background for our photos and certainly very eye-catching.

After a great day of touring, we headed back towards home but stopped for a quick coffee in sip ‘n smile on the main road.

Overall, we had a great tour of Waterford but the trip was definitely made by the comfort of both jeeps. The panoramic roof of the Evoque allowed us to take in the amazing scenery at all angles!

Where do you think we should go next?
