A Morning with Joseph O'Brien in Carriganóg Hill

Here in Auto Boland Jaguar Land Rover, we are delighted to be continuing our partnership with Joseph O’Brien.

Joseph’s success began the week after he turned sixteen where he rode his since winner in Leopardstown, he has since gone from strength to strength. In the spring of 2016, he was forced to retire after struggling to keep the weight of his 6ft frame below 9 stone. Despite having a short career as a jockey, no rider in the history of the sport has achieved more in such a short career. However, his success did not end there.

Since his retirement in 2016, Joseph began horse training in 2016. He has since then trained countless winners, there seems to be no end to his success within the equine world.

Vincent Hogan, Senior Sales Executive in Auto Boland Jaguar Land Rover said, “Land Rover are synonymous in the equestrian world, so we are delighted that Joseph O’Brien, a record breaking horse trainer at such a young range drives a Discovery Sport”.

Whilst for Joseph, it meets all his expectations and more. Not only is it a perfect car for around the gallops but it also transitions beautifully once on a motorway, giving him the best of both worlds

This is due to the All Wheel Drive technology which Land Rover have developed to ensure a confident drive on or off road, making it the perfect vehicle for slippery surfaces such as grass as the torque can be balanced between the front and rear wheels to maximise traction.

The new Discovery Sport is ideal for towing horseboxes as it can tow up to 2,500 kgs. The addition of the clear sight ground view features allows Joseph the ability to off road with the piece of mind that the terrain is suitable. The Clearsight ground view 9 effectively operating as a see “through”- Discovery Sport bonnet and display multiple exterior views including the vehicle underside and wheels as you drive.
